Wike accuses SARS operatives of robbery, kidnapping
Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike has alleged that most of the kidnapping and armed robbery cases recorded in the state are perpetrated by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
Governor Wike disclosed that the embattled SARS commander in the state, Akin Fakorede and his operatives, have been indicted by an official police signal which he claimed indicated that they are responsible for the series of kidnapping and robbery cases across the state.
Addressing journalists at the government house in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital, Governor Wike alleged that the SARS commander was planted in the state to sabotage the security architecture and create an atmosphere of fear.
The governor continued in his allegation that the deliberate acts of violence being perpetrated by the Police had been planned as part of the rigging process for 2019.
Governor Wike however said his administration has invested more than any other in providing security logistics in the state.
