The Speaker, House of Representative, Femi Gbajabiamila had a closed-door meeting with Heads of security agencies today to discuss the spate of insecurity in the country.

Speaking before the meeting entered closed-door, Chief of Defence Staff General Gabriel Olonisakin who led the Service Chiefs apologised for their absence at the previous meeting called by the House of Representatives. 

He explained that their absence was not out of disrespect to the House but due to another meeting which coincided with that of the House.
Earlier, speaker Gbajabiamila said the meeting was aimed at finding out why there are still growing concerns of insecurity in the country despite claims of success by the military.

Other service chiefs except the chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai and the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu who was unavoidably absent due to other security engagement of national importance
