Rivers sea pirate community sends SOS to Govt
The people of Bile community in Degema local government area of Rivers state have lamented their suffering in the hands of pirates operating in their waterways.
The bandits, according to the people appear in military camouflage and attacked a passenger boat traveling from their community to Port-Harcourt, which led to the killing of one person with two others injured.
Addressing newsmen, the chairman Bile kingdom council of chiefs Alabo Benneth said his people are under siege as the community PRO expressed their position.
The community Development Chairman and a resident call for urgent security measures as they are now confined to the kingdom as a result of incessant attacks.
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the Rivers state police command DSP Nnamdi Omoni said the police are not aware of the development promising intensified patrol in the kingdom.
