Ogun Police Arrests Two Suspects For Kidnapping Two Pupils
The detectives attached to the Department of Criminal Investigation of the Ogun state Police Command Eleweran Abeokuta have arrested two kidnappers who kidnapped two students of an international school in at Molipa Ijebu Ode Ogun State.
The prime suspect, Mr Kingson Sunday,27, had been a friend to the family of the victims and has been helping the parents of the victims in taking and returning the students to and fro their school, Imperial International School, Molipa Ijebu Ode before he decided to kidnap the victims,Tolulope Kosoko,9, and Omodolapo Kosoko,7 years.
The prime suspect, while speaking with correspondent Kunle Ojo confirmed that he was a teacher at the above named school and decided to kidnapped the students, who have confidence in him in order to collect money from their parents.
The Public Relations Officers, Dsp Muyiwa Adejobi, who paraded the prime suspect Mr Sunday teacher, and his accomplice, said the suspect contacted the parents of the victims that he had taken the children to Ebonyin state and demanded for five hundred thousand Naira only (500,000) ransom before the release of the two victims.
He added that the suspect had sent the account details of the his accomplice, Mr August Johnson, 47, a teacher residing at Ohaozara in Ebonyi and that in order to track them down, the police credited the said account with one hundred and fifty naira(150000) and penciled down the account in the bank while the suspects were arrested while making efforts to withdraw the money from that account with the help of the police informants placed on surveillance in Ebonyi State.
Adejobi added that the the suspects, who were arrested in Ohaukwu Ebonyi on 15th July by the police detectives of Ogun State after a fierce and rigorous investigation, have been moved to the Criminal investigation department of the command in Eleweran, Abeokuta for further investigation saying the two victims were rescued hale and hearty.
The police image maker said the Commissioner of Police Ogun State, Ikemefuna Okoye, who commended the gallant officers for their efforts encouraged the general public to always keep their kids in the hands of trusted persons who are of great repute in the community.
