Rowdy session at Senate hearing
The opening of a three-day Public Hearing by the Joint Senate Committees on Petroleum Upstream, Downstream and Gas turned rowdy as representatives of Ilaje Community of Ondo State, an oil producing community, protests the position of the State government.
The Ilaje people fault the position paper of the Ondo state govt. on grounds that it does not represent the interest of the oil producing communities of the State.
In the heat of the moment, Chairman of the Joint Senate Committee, Senator Kabiru Marafa calmed frayed nerves, urging for patience, assuring that all parties will be heard.
Shortly afterwards, the representatives of the Ilaje community speak further on the actual areas of conflict.
