Obasanjo, Amosun Encourage Acts Of Kindness This Season
As Nigerians from all walks of life continue to savour the joy of Christmas, former President Olusegun, Obasanjo, Ogun state Governor, Ibikunle Amosun have appealed to well meaning individuals in the country to remember the oppressed and the less privilege in the country at this moment.
Speaking in Ifo Local Government area of the state at the annual Ibogun Olagun Day, Obasanjo, Amosun and others stated that the privileged Nigerians, who have made their mark in their various field of human endeavor, should give back to their people, as this will engender development in all local communities across the Country.
The yearly event brings sons, daughters and friends of the community together to celebrate, rejoice and chat a way forward for the development of the area.
Speaking at the event, the former President, Olusegun Obasanjo charged well Meaning Nigerians to always remember their root and used their God given wealth to contribute to the progress and development of the area noting that by so doing, the much awaited development would be visible in the country.
Obasanjo commended Governor Amosun for fulfilling his promises to the people of the state and urged the people of the state, to always give back to their root and remain united, noting that everything is not about money.
In their separate remarks at the event, the former Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Taofeek Arapaja and a Chieftain in Egbaland, Dr. Femi Majekodunmi joined the former president to appealed to the privilege Nigerians to show responsibility and give back to their communities.
In his remark at the event, Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun lauded the former president for his contribution to the grassroot development and Nigeria as a whole, calling on other leaders in the country to emulate this aspect of his life.
He assured residents of the state of a better 2015 in term of distribution of the dividends of democracy across the 20 Local Government Areas in the state saying, their continuous support for his administration would go a long way in ensuring the success of developmental initiatives of his administration.
