The Nigerian Senate has pledged to accord all the needed support for the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities to function optimally.

This commitment was made Monday during the screening of the Chairman and six National Commissioners drawn from all the geopolitical zones of the country.

Galaxy’s Godfrey Eshiemoghie reports that Chairman, Senate Committee on Youth, Sports and Social Development, Obinna Ogba, harped on ensuring adequate budgetary appropriation for the Commission for Persons with Disabilities to carry out its functions as required to promote the welfare of the concerned group.

In a chat with newsmen, the Commission’s Chairman-designate, Dr Hussaini Kangiwa stressed the need to run an all-inclusive Commission if given the nod by the Senate.
