The Ogun State Police Command on Sunday arrested five men namely; Toheeb Popoola, Ibrahim Ridwan, Mutiu Tijani, Akeem Ishola and Lawal Afeez for beaten 25-year-old Monsur Kareem to death on May 13th, 2020.

Confirming the arrest, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi said that the suspects were arrested following a report by the deceased father,  Najeem Kareem.

Oyeyemi said the deceased father reported at the Sango police station that his son was beaten to coma by the suspects following a minor misunderstanding they had.

The PPRO further said the corpse of the deceased had been deposited at Ifo General Hospital mortuary for autopsy. 

He added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson, had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution
