In Imo state, southeast Nigeria operatives of the Nigeria police force around 9 am on Sunday morning, broke into a locked apartment in the Nekede area of the state and found a middle-aged man and woman supposed to be lovers lying dead in the apartment.

According to the statement from the Imo State Police spokesman, SP Orlando Ikeokwu operatives of the Divisional Police headquarter, Nekede/Ihiagwa Division moved to a room 19 Vic-Mic lodge situated around JMJ Bus stop, following a tip-off and found the lifeless body of one Cynthia Obieshi and one Samuel Osuji.

The police statement said Cynthia Obieshi visited her boyfriend late Samuel Osuji to pass the night but for some reasons yet to be ascertained, the duo did not make it to the morning. 

While the investigation into the matter is ongoing, the corpses of the two is said to have been deposited in the morgue.
