A group of Kano elders under the aegis of Kano Integrity group has declared its support for the creation of more emirate councils in Kano state. They claimed that Kano city is over congested and needs to be decentralized.

The leader of the group, Professor Abdul Salihi said every meaningful citizen of Kano state should support Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and the emirate councils to succeed.

He emphasized that if the present government fails to create more emirate councils another government would do so because the people will continue to agitate for them due to the enormous potential benefits attached to their existence in Kano state.

The creation of four more emirates by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has created controversy in Kano state.
