Delta women converge to end killings
Past and present wives of Delta state governors, serving female members of the state and national assembly, commissioners and politicians gathered at the unity hall government house in Asaba, the Delta state capital to pray for God to put an end to the killings in some parts of the country.
The women while speaking with correspondents after the prayer session, themed 'brokenness,' harped on the need for a successful walk with God and the need for peaceful co-existence in the country.
These women have left all they have to do just to intercede for the nation, as their outcry is for peace to return to Nigeria.
The host and wife of the Delta state governor, Dame Edith Okowa admonished leaders to use their position to better the lives of others as God has elevated them.
On her part, the guest minister, Pastor Ruth Aifobokhia called on women to take their place as mothers and be the wheel for a positive change in the country.
The high point of the program was the prayer session led by clergies who were present and prayed for peace and the birth of the Nigeria of our dream.
