Delta govt. caution traditional rulers over unlawful powers
The Delta State Government have threatened to take drastic actions against community chiefs and traditional rulers who seize power illegitimately.
This was disclosed by the Deputy Governor Kingsley Otuaro when he received leaders of three Delta communities in Isoko kingdom who had been at loggerhead over kingship tussle.
Addressing community leaders and officials of the state, the deputy Governor frowns at the happenings in the communities.
He urged warring factions to maintain the status quo as the leader of the delegation calls for government support.
It will be recalled that three Delta communities of Arade, Owelogbo and Elu had boundary conflict over traditional institutions which claimed some lives from each of the communities.
