COVID-19: Kano Emir Urges Residents to Comply With Stay At Home Order
The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero is urging Kano people to obey the state government's restrictions of movement order and stay at home so as to curtail the spread of the novel Coronavirus.
In an interface with newsmen in his palace over the state government's total Lockdown policy for seven days against the global COVID-19 pandemic, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero appreciated measures taken by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje's administration to fight the spread of the virus.
Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero said the rising cases of the novel coronavirus made it imperative for the government to apply all the necessary measures to ensure the safety of its citizens.
He appealed to the state government to provide palliatives with a view of reducing tension and hardship being faced by the people as a result of lockdown which has entered day six.
While praying for God's protection against the deadly virus, the emir advised citizens to always adhere to experts instructions so as to stay safe.
Kano currently has seventy positive cases of the virus and a death.
"We are grateful for the efforts put in place by our religious leaders to ensure the health safety of our people. We all will give an account of our work on earth to God.
I call on our people to know that every hardship will pass away, therefore, it's important we repent of our errors and adhere to the instructions of the professionals .we pray God grant us peace and prosperity," he said.
