Buhari Swears-in Lawan's Aide, 11 Others as NASS Service Commission
President Muhammadu Buhari has swore-in members of the National Assembly Commission.
In a brief ceremony before the commencement of Wednesday’s federal executive council, the twelve member commission read the oath office and allegiance before the president and the leadership of the National Assembly.
The twelve-member commission which is mainly principal officers’ nominees, has representatives from the six geopolitical zones of the country with southeast having only one person, Senator Julius Ucha from Ebonyi State.
Speaking after the inauguration, senate president Ahmad Lawan expressed optimism that the commission will deliver on its mandate.
Fielding questions from journalists at the presidential villa, chairman of the commission,
Ahmed Kadi Amshi promised to abide by the oaths they took.
Other members of the Commission are, Atanomeyorwi Francis from Delta State who was of the Omo-Agege Campaign team representing, South-South.
Babagana Modu, Borno, North East; Abubakar Tutare, Taraba, North East; Hakeem Akamo, Lagos, southwest; Tunrayo Akintomide, Ondo, South West.
Others are Bassey Etuk, Akwa-Ibom; South-South, Bailyaminu Yusuf Shinkafi, Zamfara, North West; Sani Saidu Kazaure, Jigawa, North West; Julius Ucha, Ebonyi, southeast; Auwalu Aliyu Ohindase, Kogi, North Central, and Muazu Is’haq, Nasarawa, North Centra.
The inauguration which witnessed by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno, retd, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha and the members of the Federal Executive Council, FEC.
Also present were Alhaji Mohammed Sani-Omolori Clerk to the National Assembly and Mr. Olusanya Ajakaiye Secretary, National Assembly Service.
