Today, speaking to journalists in Benin City, I assured them that before 2025, Edo State will develop, grow its digital economy and operate a digital government, which we are building already, to plug into the new digital age and ensure efficient service delivery to all our citizens.

As a government, we remain committed to working for every Edo citizen and improving their wellbeing by ensuring that the state grows into a globally competitive economy enabled by technology.

Noting that the digital economy has become necessary amid the current socio-economic realities in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, I stressed that it was now essential for us to retool our workforce.

Once we can redesign the government and bureaucracy to focus more on providing services efficiently, we will unlock the innate energies, creativity and innovation of our people.
