It was a spectacular show of glamour and opulence in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, by the elite members of the Nigerian society, politicians, captains of industries and service chiefs who thronged the ancient city for the society wedding of the daughter of Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Miss Ayomide Amosun, and Mr. Oladipupo Dabiri; son of former House of Representatives member and Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari, on Nigerians in Diaspora, Abike Dabiri – Erewa.
The African Church Primary School, Ita Iyalode, Abeokuta, the venue of the traditional engagement and Nikkah ceremony and Muhammad Buhari Presidential Estate where the reception took place, surged with dignitaries.
Meanwhile, Nigerians have been advised not to see the high rate of crime in the society as the failure of security agents but failure of the institution of marriage.
The Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara gave the advice during the wedding reception of Ayomide Amosun and Oladipo Dabiri.
Dogara has affirmed that failure of the institution of marriage plays a key role in rising rate of crime and criminality in the society and that parents must strive to build a good home where responsible children could be raised.
Dogara and Former President Obasanjo at the wedding reception of Ayomide Amosun and Oladipo Dabiri urged the couple to always be conscious of the fact that happenings in the society constitute a reflection of different homes. They appealed to them to make God the bedrock of their union.
The Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo who delegated the cutting of the cake to his Wife, Dolapo Osinbajo offered special prayers for the new couple while, the bride’s father, Senator Ibukunle Amosun and the grooms mother, Hon Abike D aboriginal Erewa were full of joy as the urged the newest couple to love each other unconditionally.
Other dignitaries include, former head of National Interim Government, Serving and former governors, Ministers, Politicians from different political parties, Federal and State lawmakers among others.
