We Have Reduced Number of Out of School Children in Kano - Ganduje
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State says his administration has reduced to the number of out of school children in the state.
The made the disclosure during a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the state Abuja, Friday.
The governor said of the over one million children who are of school age but are out of school, six hundred of them have been enrolled in the free education scheme introduced by his administration.
He said the Kano state government has also initiated Almajiri system of education where special teachers are engaged to take on children before their enrolment into the regular schools.
On the state’s efforts to ensure the security of lives and property in the state, the governor explained that more was being done to sustain the existing peace in the state.
He said his administration is introducing ICT into the security architecture of alongside planned community security summit to beef security in Nigeria's most populated town.
The governor also spoke on the rift with the emir of Kano Mohammed Sanusi, the second,who was absent from high calibre visit----saying the rift between them would be resolved.
He said the state could not sponsor all the five prominent emirs in Kano for the visit.
Ganduje said they were in the villa to thank President Muhammadu Buhari, for some federal projects located in Kano state.
