One loaded AK 47 rifle with double magazines containing fifty rounds of 7.62mm ammunition was recovered while combing the bushes at Awgbu, in Orumba North local government area of Anambra state.

This is according to the spokesperson of the Anambra state police command Ikenga Tochukwu in a statement made available to Galaxy news.
According to him, the arms and ammunition were recovered when operatives of the state police command and local vigilantes combed the forest during an intensified manhunt for the kidnappers who escaped from the scene of last Friday shootout.

The state commissioner of police Aderemi Adeoye praised the diligence of the joint team and promised to reward officers of the police and the vigilante group for their commitment to safety.

Meanwhile, the four male victims rescued from the kidnappers last Friday have all been re-united with their families according to the police.
