Police arrests suspected armed robbers, recover arms in Delta
Two suspected armed robbers were arrested in Asaba the Delta state capital, as well as Oviore in Ethiope East local government area of the state.
This is according to a statement by the state police command spokesperson Edafe Bright made available to Galaxy news.
According to the police, one of the suspects was arrested along cable road Asaba through routine patrol, when he was sighted in a motorcycle and sped off before he was given a hot chase and later arrested alongside a single barrel shotgun kept inside a bag.
The second suspect was said to have been arrested at his patent medicine store through credible information which led to the searching of the premises as one short gun and live cartridges were recovered.
The Delta police commissioner Wale Abass who commended his men, warned that the ongoing arms mop up is yielding the desired results.
