Kano Women are bemoaning the hardship they are facing due to the lockdown imposed in the state.

Although the lockdown order in Kano state is affecting all, Galaxy TV correspondent King Richard has gone around the ancient city where some women explained the economic effect of the lockdown on them and their family.

A school teacher, Esther Nathaniel said she has been without salary in the last two months and that has made things very difficult for her.

A resident of Sabon Gari quarters, Elizabeth Ojor said she and her children have not been able to feed properly since the Kano lockdown began and called for help from well-meaning citizens.

In Brigade Quarters area of Kano state, Galaxy TV news encountered  Ladi Onoja and Martha Moses who engage in street petty trading to feed their family but has been unable to do so due to the economic lockdown imposed on the state to curtail the spread of the novel coronavirus.

While Ladi Onoja says her four children are finding it really hard to feed Martha Moses says the roadside corn barbecue business is no longer enough to feed her children because people are now under lockdown.  

All these sufferings are taking place in a period rains are destroying thousands of bags of grain provided by the federal government to Kano state because the state government under governor Abdullahi Ganduje is slow to distribute the palliative materials to the residents of Kano. 

Kano has been under lockdown since April 16, 2020, till date
