Insecurity: NAF Promises to Support Oyo Govt
The Nigeria Airforce has declared its support for the Oyo state government towards ensuring the safety of lives and property of residents.
The Air Officer Commanding, Logistics Command, Ikeja, Air Vice Marshal Olaonipekun Makinde who gave the assurance in Ibadan during a visit to Governor Seyi Makinde said NAF remain committed to ensuring the security of lives and property in the state.
Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that Air Vice-Marshal Makinde disclosed that his men are well-positioned and are ready to assist the state in any way towards ensuring peace and security in the state.
He thanked the Governor for his support for the NAF adding that all hands must be on the deck towards sustaining the mutual relationship between the two parties.
On his part, Governor Seyi Makinde said plans by his administration to make Ibadan Airport a regional transportation hub are on course adding that the state government needs another NAF base in Ibadan to ensure the effectiveness of the Airport.
He promised that the government will assist in upgrading the Airforce School at Iyana-offa and help in connecting the school to the national grid.
