The Nigeria Police Force has appealed to Nigerians to shun violent protest saying this is detrimental to the peace and Security of the territory.

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun made the appeal while responding to questions from journalists during his meeting with strategic managers in Abuja

Egbetokun who recognized the rights of citizens to protest, but underscored the need to be weary of miscreants who might hijack the protests to cause mayhem'

The Police Boss reiterated the commitment of the police to secure lives and property of residents.

He assured that his men have been advised on how to professionally handle protests across the country.
