The Acting Chairman of the Anti-graft Agency, Ibrahim Magu while speaking in Ibadan, Oyo state capital confirmed that Efcc would commence her prosecution this year.

 

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu was on an official visit to the Ibadan Zonal office of the anti-graft agency to inspect facilities on ground and to assess the performance of his men in the zone.

 

He commended officials of the commission in the zone for sustaining the anti-corruption crusade with good results.

 

Speaking on the prosecution of the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, Magu accused foreign partners of shielding her for unknown reasons stressing that her case is taking too long.

 

He assured Nigerians that the Commission would put all machinery in place to ensure that Madueke's case is transfer to Nigeria for her to face the full wrath of the law.

 

The Chairman of the Anti Graft Commission frowned at what he called unusual protection being given to the former minister of Petroleum adding that if foreign collaborators lack proven evidence, his commission would be ready to supply enough evidence.

 

Ahead of planned re-run elections in the country this year, Magu declared that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission would fight vigorously against vote-buying.

 

He lauded the sterling qualities of the Late Sage, Obafemi Awolowo and Adeniyi Akintola for their contributions to national development calling on the present crop of politicians in Nigeria to emulate their qualities.
