The people of Anambra especially those living in Awka, the state capital have decried the incessant knock-down of pedestrians by vehicles each time they attempt to cross the express way.

 According to the residents in the area, hardly will a week pass by in the state without one or two pedestrians being knocked down by vehicle in recent times.

The two incidents that occurred ‎recently involving a man by Aroma opposite the state library and a woman by Unizik junction just within the space three days are disheartening the pedestrians says.

The people have called severally but according to them, their distress calls have been to no avail.

However, moves made by Galaxy television correspondent, research into the cause of the perceived ‎silence by the state government reveals that they are handicap themselves.

While relating the position of th state government on the matter, the managing director, Anambra state signage and advertisement agency Jude Emechata‎, in an interview with Galaxy television makes his contribution.

However, the people reinstate the urgent need for ‎additional pedestrian bridges in the area. They appealed to the government to come to their rescue and suggested more drastic approach to be given to the matter.
